International Patients come to the IEO from the Middle-East, Central and Eastern Europe, South America, Saudi Arabia and Russia. Work organization is always centered around patients needs and is based on excellence of service.
IEO offers the following clinical services:
Medical consultations and Diagnostic exams
Specialist Medical consultations and all diagnostic exams are performed in the main IEO building in Milan, viaRipamonti, 435 and in IEO Centro Milan, Via San Luca.
The examination and sample collection rooms are located on the ground floor, next to the Main Admission Desk.
Ultrasounds, mammographies, CT and PET scans, MRendoscopies and other diagnostic tests are performed on Underground Level 1.
Day Hospital treatments
Chemotherapies and support treatments not requiring overnight hospitalization are performed in the Day Hospita located on the first floor.
The Day Hospital is equipped with ten chemotherapy beds and six rooms for treatments requiring prolonged medical and nursing assistance.
Day Surgery procedures
Surgery procedures not requiring overnight hospitalization are performed in the operating theatreblock on the second floor.
Each department has a few beds available if needed during the immediate postoperative period.
In-patient medical treatmentsand surgical procedures
IEO is equipped with 318 beds distributed between thedifferent departments. Located on the first and second floor, the beds are used for post-surgery hospitalizatioand for in-patient medical treatments. Each room features a bathroom, TV set, and a safe forvaluables. All rooms are air-conditioned. IEO allows patients to visit with family and friendswithout imposing particularly strict visit times.
Radiotherapy
External radiotherapy treatments are performed on Underground Level 1, where there are three linear accelerators. IEO has next-generation equipment and is the Italian centre that performs the highest number of radiotherapy treatments. ELIOT procedures are performed in the operating room (ELIOT is an intraoperative radiotherapy technique developed at IEO, which allows the concentration of high radiationdoses directly onto the tumour in a single administration session during the surgical procedure, in many cases making it unnecessary for the patient to undergo post-operative radiotherapy cycles).

TRAVEL AGENCY
At the IEO there is a service for travel and hotel accommodation bookings, dedicated to patients and their families. The Agency is located at the ground floor of IEO Building 2, and is open Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 17.30. Alternatively, you can contact the Agency by telephone at 02 75397.577, from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 18.00.

Two luggage lockers are available below the escalators on the basement of IEO 1.
TAXI AND PRIVATE TRANSFER SERVICE
At the reception (Building 1, Hall A) it is possible to book a taxi or a rental car with driver.
They is also a taxi parking areain front of the IEO 2 where taxis are available.
PARKING
IEO provides a multi-storey underground car park, which is accessed directly from the main entrance. Upon arrival, an officer of the surveillance will give you the necessary information.

SHUTTLE
The IEO shuttle is a free service that connects the office in Via Ripamonti with the Green Line of the Underground, "Abbiategrasso Station" and vice versa, with intermediate stops at the Quark Hotel and the terminus of Tram 24.
The average duration of the trip is about 15/20 minutes. The service is available from Monday to Friday. See the shuttle timetable.
TELEPHONES
In the corridor that connects the two halls from the IEO building 1 there are public telephones and a vending machine for phone cards.
URP
The Customer Relations Office (URP) is a fundamental service interface between the patient and the Institute, which promotes and facilitates the relations between the IEO and its "clients". Located on the ground floor of building 2 it is open from 10.30 to 12.30 and from 15.30 to 17.30, from Monday to Friday.
RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT
On the 3rd floor of building 1 there is a small chapel dedicated to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina and the Saints Cosma and Damiano, where Mass is celebrated daily at 16:00.
Patients of other faiths may also request the assistance of ministers of their religion, directly to the head nurse of theri ward.

The European Institute of Oncology is fully devoted to providing a tailored welcome and a hospital stay that will meet individual needs offering a customized care for all patients.
Administrative Admission
On the day of admission, our administrative personnel will take care of all the required paperwork.
The administrative staff will prepare the documents to be handed over to the admission department’s Head Nurse, and you will be given the name of the reference physician with whom you will discuss information regarding the treatment programme you will follow during your hospital stay.
A nurse will accompany you to your room and will collect all the information required to assess your healthcare needs.
Room Facilities
All rooms are air-conditioned and possess a bathroom, TV set, telephone, and safe box.National Healthcare Service patients stay in double rooms. Private inpatients stay in single rooms with a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Medication and Food
All the medication you will need during your hospital stay will be prescribed and ordered by IEO doctors. Please avoid taking medication of any kind without authorization from the department’s medical staff, as the use of other drugs may interfere with your treatment.
Meal times are as follows:
Tea is served in the late afternoon.
Meals are served in special thermal trays and prepared specifically for each patient according to the type of diet prescribed by the physician and the clinical nutrition service. Every day, a catering service attendant will come to your room to take your order from the day’s menu.
Discharge
On the day of your discharge, a nurse will assess your general condition and a doctor will examine you in the morning to confirm your discharge.Our administrative personnel will carry out all the paperwork required for patient discharge:
