The International Observership Program is a specific program in which the observers accompanies medical staff through their daily hospital routine, sharing experiences with doctors, residents, staff and students. The program is not for academic credit.
Observership may be in an inpatient and outpatient setting and must be approved by the IEO facility’s department Directors of the area being observed.

You must send in all requested documents at least 60 days before the start date of the observership to observership@ieo.it
After your application form has been received, you will be send an email including 3 IEO forms to sign:
The processing of your request usually takes about 30 days. In the case your request has been approved, you will receive an invitation letter.
These guidelines do not apply to Italian or European medical residents with medical degrees recognized in Italy. These residents are kindly asked to contact specializzandi@ieo.it through their University or Teaching Hospital.

The observership program is designed for currently practicing clinicians and is not suitable for students or individuals seeking residency opportunities at the hospital.
Please be advised that in an observership, observers will not physically engage with any patients or advise on any cases. Observers will strictly be observing/shadowing our professional staff. Participation in our observership program does not have any bearing on pending or future internship/fellowship applications.
