Post doc program
In 2008, SEMM launched its postdoctoral training program, SIPOD (Structured International Post Doc Program), which is co-funded through the European Community Marie Curie Actions (currently FP7). This program aims to boost the careers of outstanding and highly-motivated postdoctoral researchers of any nationality, by providing them with the necessary tools to become successful and independent research scientists.
Access to the SIPOD program entails a detailed evaluation of the candidate’s professional record, including his or her publication record. The selection of candidates is highly competitive: candidates are required to submit a research project, and they are also interviewed directly. This three year training program allows successful candidates to join a research group, with the additional benefit of 80 hours of advanced lectures in Patenting, Technology Transfer and Licensing; Grant scouting, Writing and Management; Team Leading and Group Organization; Ethical Issues in Science; Translational Research and Clinical Trials.
