VISITING THE IEO DEPARTMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL ONCOLOGY

The Department of Experimental Oncology uses structured staff and young researchers with established scientific experience, based also on an extensive network of contacts with other research institutes and Italian and foreign universities. These partnerships often need to host researchers from other institutions for shorter or longer periods. The importance of such collaborations is evident from the fact that many of the publications on the most important international scientific journals are precisely a result of such exchanges. In this context, it becomes essential to guarantee access to the Department for students and researchers (Visiting Scientists), with methods and appropriate legal forms.

How to apply:

1. Send in your signed application form and guidelines to lar-personneloffice@ieo.eu
2. After your application form has been received, you will be send an email including 2 IEO forms to sign: the personal data collection agreement and the patient data confidentiality agreement. In addition, we ask you to provide us the following documents:

- Recent (within 6 months from the start of the period of visit) reference letter from the candidate’s current employer or university, including official letterhead of the institution

- Copy of the Job contract or a declaration of employment during the visiting period at IEO, including official letterhead of the institution

- Copy of the School Diploma (original documents not in English or Italian must be translated and certified by the Italian Consulate)

- Copy of Passport

- Curriculum Vitae

You must send in all requested documents at least 30 days before the start of the visiting period.              

3. The processing of your request usually takes about 30 days. In the case your request has been approved, you will receive an invitation letter.

These guidelines do not apply to:

• Doctors and Researchers who handle patient clinical data, whose access to the IEO is governed by the policy 'Clinical Observers'.
• Italian colleagues who do not carry out experimental work in IEO laboratories, whose stay is less than 5 days.
