Training Programmes
Programmes start in January each year. Post-graduate training focused on cancer management with a multidisciplinary approach.
Application deadline is the 15th of December for the following programmes beginning the following year.
Educational Objectives
Provide theoretical and technical tools to solve the most frequent clinical problems in the surgical treatment of abdomino-pelvic oncologic patients
Share our extensive knowledge of methods and techniques both practical and theoretical, frequently used in leading edge abdomino-pelvic surgery
Demonstrate the technical tools needed to employ the latest diagnostic and surgical methods
Examine and understand the global impact and the most recent developments in surgical techniques and procedures
Understand the latest technological applications of minimally-invasive, robot-assisted, and open surgery in relation to abdomino-pelvic oncology
Duration: Both programmes are over one calendar year.

Dates & Scheduling: Training weeks at IEO are limited to 2 doctors at a time. Once accepted into a program, you can coordinate your training weeks
with the Esagon secretary.
Candidate Selection Criteria
Should the number of applicants be greater than the number of places available, selection will be based on the correlation between:
The applicants’ curriculum and the course characteristics
The applicants’ previous work experience and the course objectives
The interview

Grant Available for 2016: The Sergio Gugole memorial grants were established by a doctor who attended one of Esagon's training programmes
in order to assist less fortunate countries to enhance the health of women in their country. It is a great example of the Esagon family giving back.
Three grants have been awarded in the past two years.
For 2016 there is one Sergio Gugole memorial grant for Programme 1. The grant covers the registration fee for Programme 1. Transportation and lodging are
not included. Below are the standard candidate criteria that must be met for application.
