Gynecologic cancer survival rates are higher at oncology reference centers because the training is specialized. We provide advanced post-graduate training to improve the survival of cancer patients with an enhanced surgical approach and a multidisciplinary approach.

- Most of the surgical operations carried out at IEO are ovarian cancer cases.

- Since 1996, IEO is a reference centre in Italy for ovarian cancer management, with

more than 100 new cases per year and 350 surgeries in 2014 alone.

- Main surgical procedures at IEO are: primary & secondary debulking surgery, interval ebulking surgery,

cytoreductive surgery, and pelvic exenterations.

- The IEO Ovarian Cancer Centre (OCC) was set up in 2008.

Esagon is part of the IEO-European Institute of Oncology. IEO is home to the Ovarian Cancer Center, a reference center in Italy, and the Cervical Cancer Center. Our expertise in this area is extensive. Our experts are sought after to present and speak at conferences world-wide.

Students in the programmes participate in theory and educational surgery sessions as well as attend clinical and technical training. Learn more.
